| Nature of the Ministry: Directors for CEF of Bradford County. Responsibilities include: The set up and oversight of every ministry that CEF is involved in, including: the recruiting and training workers; setting up clubs and classes; preparing teaching materials; maintaining the lending library; and helping local churches train their children’s workers.
Prayer Requests: Pray for the children who’ve trusted Christ as Savior; pray for safety for Dan as he travels in his work; pray that others might take over some of Dan’s classes, in order to lighten his teaching load; pray for better attendance in released-time classes; pray for a fruitful Summer ministry.
Financial Information: CEF of Bradford County is supported by churches and individuals. CEF is a faith ministry. The Russell’s support level is set by the CEF of Bradford County Committee and comes from designated gifts and the General Fund. The Russell’s receive a salary of $1,700.00 a month, out of which comes their health insurance.
Personal notes: Dan and Sharon didn’t know each other until they met at school. Shortly thereafter, God began to lead them towards missions. As they grew closer to one another, it became evident to them that God wanted them to serve together in ministry. Though not sure where (or what) God had in mind, they were willing to obey His bidding. Currently, it is their burden to become financially able to hire more summer missionaries, in order to reach more children through 5-day clubs. They are continually trying to develop follow-up plans for children who trust in Christ. They’re also burdened to develop the Good News Club ministry. The office and some office equipment also needs updating.
